Our reunion will take place over the weekend of October 19, 20 and 21, 2007. The main event venue has been selected for Saturday, October 20 at Marina Village on Mission Bay. We are also planning a No-Host Meet & Greet cocktail party on Friday, October 19 and are considering a Sunday picnic-style event if there is enough interest.
We looked at a lot of different venues but this was the best in terms of value and location. It's close to downtown and the airport. There are plenty of hotels nearby. There's free parking. And the room will allow us to set up tables so there's no perceived "better" table or "worse" table.
Why October? Nicer weather, cheaper prices, it might coincide with Homecoming Weekend (which was really fun this year) and most of us don't have school-age kids anymore.
We will have prices for the Saturday event finalized by August. Right now, our aim is to make this all-inclusive and open to everyone regardless of their ability to pay. We'd also like the turn-out to reflect the wonderful diversity that was the Class of '67.
Right now our committee consists of Roberto Saucedo, Johnny Castillo, Janet Reyman, Joe Lessor, Bill Franklin, Kathy Krane, Gay Watson, Shannon Walsh and a few other folks who drop in from time to time. Anybody who wants to be on the steering committee should post here with your contact info and we'll tell you when the next meeting is. You don't need to be in San Diego to be on a committee, but unless you're here, you'll miss the incredibly great food and drink Roberto and his wife serve up.
